UCT offers a range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

As English is the language used in teaching and assessment, all students must meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements.

You can apply for student housing as part of your application. Follow the prompts in the application form or visit the Student Housing web pages for further details.

The Admissions web pages give full details on application deadlines and admission requirements. Once submitted, it is a good idea to monitor the status of your application.

Programmes of study for undergraduates

The undergraduate prospectus lists programmes and subject areas for those interested in studying for a first degree at UCT.

Applications open in April each year and close on 31 July. Apply online by following the links from Applications and submitting a non-refundable application fee.

Programmes of study for postgraduate study

UCT offers a range of postgraduate taught and research degree programmes. You can find details on each faculty’s programmes, admission requirements, and fees and funding at the postgraduate hub.

Application processes vary by faculty and programme. The Directions for Applicants offers advice on submitting an application as well as key dates and requirements for postgraduate study. Any documents not in English should be translated and sworn to by an authorised translator.
